A Dream Comes True

One by one they all get taken off "the market," as some refer to it. They fall in love, get married, and start families. My girlfriends and I would joke about who would "go" first. ME, Hayley, Brittlyn, Liz... well as fate would have it... that did not happen... not even close actually. In March of 2007, Liz married Bobby Green. May 2008, Brittlyn married Brandon Doyle... leaving Hayley and Me still single: until now.

On October 18th, exactly 6 months from our wedding date, Justin Mack, the love of my life, proposed. Of course, I said YES! This is how he popped the question.

In the middle of the week, he asked me if I wanted to go over to Liz and Bobby's house to watch the UFC fights, have a BBQ, and Play NERTZ. I said ok, and it's not like this was out of the ordinary at all. We do this pretty regualrly. So, we get there on Saturday and Liz is so anxious to play NERTZ. So, before anything else can happen, we all sit down and start playing the best game in the world. Now we play this game ALL THE TIME, so this wasn't weird at all. What was weird was that the song that Justin sings to me all the time, The Joker by Steve Miller Band, came on the computer and I didn't even know Liz and Bobby liked that song. Well I got all excited cuz it came on, but still didn't think anything about it. So I'm flipping through my cards and turning over my NERTZ cards (for those of you who don't know, your NERTZ cards are a pile of 13 cards in a stack face down and the object is to get through that pile first. This game is like Ultimate Solitaire), well I'm looking around watching everyone elses moves and I'm relaizing that they should all be out already... my pile was going incredibly slow... but I just shurgged it off and continued playing. I flip over one of the cards and I look at it and see that it's a Joker. Well Jokers aren't supposed to be in the deck so I look at Liz and ask her why that card was in there. She stares at me blankly and I finally look at the card. Written on the card in black marker is the sentence, "Will You Marry Me!" My eyes filled with tears and a huge smile spread across my face. My heart started beating so fast that everyone could probably hear it. I look to the right where Justin was sitting and He's looking at me, down on one knee, holding a little grey box in his hand with the most beautiful ring I have EVER seen! He says, "Kim, I love you. Will you marry Me?" I said, "Of Course," and gave him a big kiss and we just held each other for a little while. I was overwhelmed, crying, shaking (we had been talking about it and had picked out the ring and everything, but I had no idea when he was going to do it, and I was so supprised), and so overly happy that I couldn't stop smiling or looking at my new fiance, the Love of My Life. It was perfect.

I am so excited to become Kimbely Mack, and be married to the man of my dreams for time and all eternity. He's an amazing person, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the whole world. We are getting married in the Sacramento Temple on April 18th, 2009.

So let the wedding planning start! Woo Hoo!!!! I LOVE YOU JUSTIN MACK!
